Card game rules

The rules of the games in Felt Club, explained briefly and in full. Every page starts with five points to get going, followed by special cards, house rules and questions from the table.

• President Card Game Rules

  Beat the cards or pass: the first to run out becomes President.

  All cards from two decks (7 to 2) are dealt out; the 2 is the highest card and suits do not count.

• Crazy Eights (Mau-Mau) Rules

  Match suit or rank, with special cards and the famous “Mau”.

  Everyone gets 5 cards from a 32-card deck; one card lies face up in the middle, the rest form the draw pile.

• Thirty-One (Schwimmen) Rules

  Three cards, one suit, as close to 31 as you can get.

  Everyone gets 3 cards from a 32-card deck, and 3 more lie face up in the middle.
